We were all created by God and for God. God created everything and everyone for a purpose. Our bodies have a purpose, and that purpose is to glorify God. God did not create our bodies for us to use for our own selfish gains. In the world today, people use their bodies for all the wrong purposes. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
In this era of the internet and social media, the things that are put out there show just how fallen human nature is. Many people are using their bodies to advance the agenda of the devil, whether they are aware of it or not. In an attempt to show how confident they are in their skin, many people have fallen into the trap of the enemy and are exposing their bodies for all to see.
Immorality and immodesty is being labeled as confidence in one’s skin. The devil has deceived so many people to use their bodies for sin, all the while labeling the sin as pleasure and confidence.
What a great lie the devil is advancing! Exposing yourself in such an indecent manner does not please God, it does not show that you are confident or admirable, what it shows is how lost and deceived you are and exposes to what extent you would go to gain human validation and obtain what you want. Never forget, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Many people think that just because it is within their right to do such things, they are okay; that is a great deception. What they do not realize is that the devil is using them to advance his mission and when he is done with them, he will discard them with no mercy.
Social media has become satan’s playground. It is where many people go to seek validation, acceptance, and people’s praise, and to get their lusts fulfilled.
Too many people are people-pleasers and will do anything to win the approval of other people. In an effort to attract attention and for fame, many people have taken the destructive route of exposing their bodies and dressing in satanic indecency. There is too much immodesty and the fear of God is lacking among many.
Taking and posting selfies have become a way of life for many people, and many of such photos are usually taken in a very pride-filled, haughty, lust-provoking, seductive way. Seduction is rampant today; from the way people pose, to the way they dress, to the facial and bodily expressions they make, to the places in which they take such photos, and extending to the intents behind most of these photos being taken and shared around.
Many people have lost the basic sense of decency; they wear whatever they want; the more revealing and short and tight the clothing for them, the better, not only among people of the world, but also among people who say that they are Christians. Do they not know that the Bible says that by their fruits we shall know them? Remember, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
A person who is truly living for God will neither dress like nor carry themselves like the world does. A true born-again believer is set apart; they do not conform to the patterns of the world.
If you say that you are a Christian yet you dress like the world, it is time to examine yourself. Do not try to make excuses for yourself, such as saying that modesty is relative, it is not. Our cultures should not influence our level of modesty. Just because you live in a certain country, or a certain continent, or in a certain environment and climate, or in a certain town or city does not give you the excuse of dressing in a way that does not please God.
There are standards of dressing that Christians should adhere to; it does not mean that we all dress the same but there are certain styles and fashions that should not be worn by people who profess to be Christians, irrespective of where in the world they live. You cannot dress in an immodest and indecent way and then try to use where you live and your culture as an excuse. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
We are to take care of our bodies and dress in ways that glorify God.
Do not let go of your health, eat well and live a healthy lifestyle. Dress well and carry yourself as a true follower of Christ. If you still have difficulty in taking care of yourself or in your dressing, pray for God’s help and ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to develop and mature the character of a true Christian.
Our whole lives should be a testimony that we belong to God and that we fear Him. If you let yourself go and dress any way you choose to, then people will be looking at you and wondering if that is what Christianity is all about, they will even start questioning if you are even a Christian.
Be modest in your dressing and in your deeds.
There are places as a Christian where you should not go, there are actions as a Christian that you should not do, there are behaviors as a Christian that you should not portray, there are attitudes that as a Christian should not be part of you. Carry yourself as a Christian in word and deed and in your lifestyle.
Nowadays there is too much pride, haughtiness, and self-righteousness, and many people are not open to correction. The moment you try to correct someone in a loving manner while telling them the truth, they immediately become defensive and try to explain away themselves, usually misquoting the scripture in an effort to justify their way of life.
Our bodies are not to be used for adultery, or for fornication, or for unnatural acts such as homosexuality, bestiality, or lesbianism. Our bodies were neither created for show-off nor for attracting other people to lust after us. Our bodies are not to be used for acts of uncleanliness or perversion. Do not abuse your body or misuse it for purposes that do not glorify God. Do not use your body as a tool for seduction. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
The way people carry themselves tells a lot about what is in their hearts.
Nowadays many people have become seducers and seductresses. Many people’s hearts are polluted with sin, no wonder the fruit of their lives is carnality, and the works of the flesh are fully manifest in them. Many people are full of pride and you cannot tell them anything.
Many people are pursuing the things of this world and sacrifice their bodies in the process to achieve what they want, no matter the cost. Many people are prostituting their bodies for the pleasures and things of this world. How sad shall it be for them in the end when they realize that all the things that they were pursuing outside of God’s will is vanity.
If what drives you is not of God, then in the end you will learn the hard way that God’s Word is true.
The Bible tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. Our bodies are to be used for the glory of God. How you dress, how you carry yourself, the way you take care of yourself, how you use your body; all of these should glorify God. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Take care of your body and be a good steward of the body that God has given you. Stop comparing yourself with others, you are unique and loved and accepted by God in Christ Jesus. Never allow the worldly definitions of beauty to influence you into a position of compromise.
Let your worth and value be found only in God alone, because when you do, then you will be firmly rooted and you will not be swayed around by worldly trends.
When you are born-again, you become a child of the Most High God, adopted to sonship through Jesus Christ, a child of the King of kings; therefore you ought to carry yourself like royalty. Do not allow thoughts of self-hate to take root in your heart, never forget that all that God created was and is good.
And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31.
Honor God with your body. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. God bought us at a high price, He gave His Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins. It cost God His Son to save us.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
While you still have breath, you have an opportunity to repent. Use your body for the glorification of God and not for fulfilling the lusts of the flesh neither for the lusts of the eyes nor for the pride of this life. Let your life bear witness that you are a true follower of Christ. You are not your own, you belong to God. Take good care of your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Blessings.
