Love Is Not Rude

Share

Love is not rude, it does not dishonor others. Love does not talk to others in a rude manner, it considers the other person. It does not try to make other people feel lesser than, it does not talk to others in a demeaning way. Love does not act unbecomingly, it does not behave itself unseemly, it does not act improperly or inappropriately or shamefully. It is not injurious.

Rudeness is defined as “lack of manners; dis-courteousness.” Courtesy means showing politeness in one’s attitude and behavior towards others. When we love others, we are polite to them, we never dishonor them. It is the same towards God; those of us who love God honor Him.

The Bible tells us that the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. We should be very careful about what we say with our mouths and our attitudes towards others. The tongue stains the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life. What we bring out of our mouths shows what is within us, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

When we say that we love someone yet we are rude to them, that makes us liars.

Rudeness shows the condition of our hearts, it shows a heart not submitted to God. And knowing the truth that God is love, we come to realize that a person not submitted to God is not capable of loving others. We have to submit to God, He is the One who teaches us what love really is. That means we have to be submitted to God and we should check if the people telling us that they love us are submitted to God.

The world is ruled by satan and with time we find out that if a carnal person tells us they love us, then they are looking to gain something from us. Without God the human nature is wicked. It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to die to sinful carnal nature and be in communion with God. That is why a person has to be led by the Spirit and manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their life first because only then can a person love as God calls us to love.

We are to check out the fruit in people’s lives so that we do not get deceived. We should also pray that God gives us the gift of discerning spirits. There are many wolves in sheep clothing and we are to be careful lest we fall into their traps. Not everyone who mentions the word God is a born-again believer, not everyone who attends church has Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, not everyone who preaches is called by God. We shall know them by their fruits.

The Bible advises us to live a peaceful and quiet life, in a godly and dignified way. In everything we do and say, may we seek to bring honor and glory to God.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:1-5.

May we live a life of honor, honoring our neighbors and honoring God. God honors those who honor Him.

Blessings.
