Jesus, our authority. Most people walk through life without knowing their authority. Most people live defeated lives, most people live lives under the deception of the enemy. The enemy is a deceiver, his identity is the father of all lies. If we give the enemy an open doorway into our lives, he will make us his puppets, he will control our minds, he will lead us into hell with him.
The enemy attacks the mind and introduces thoughts that do not line up with the Word of God, he introduces thoughts of defeat, he introduces thoughts of low esteem, he introduces thoughts of rejection, he introduces shame, guilt, and condemnation, he introduces thoughts that make us view ourselves the wrong way.
The enemy wants us to live a defeated life, a life where we do not know our authority, he wants us to live a life that is out of God’s will.
The devil is defeated and he knows it, Jesus defeated him 2000 years ago, he is on borrowed time. The enemy knows he is destined for hell and he wants to carry with him as many people as possible, he wants us to live lives that do not honor God. The trick of the enemy is to use lies, sometimes lies that are so close to the truth to the extent that many people fall under the deception; he knows the Word and twists it to accomplish his evil desires.
The devil is not our friend, he is our enemy, he wants to steal and destroy our lives on earth and in the end rob us of eternal life.
The enemy has no hold on us unless we allow him, he cannot stand the cross of Jesus. We should never allow the enemy access to our lives; whether through our thoughts, our words, our actions, our way of life, whether through the company we associate with or the influence we allow other people to have on us. We should keep our lives so close to Jesus to the extent that every door is closed and the enemy has no legal rights to us.
Jesus is our authority, God is our Father, the Holy Spirit is our Teacher of Truth. At the feet of Jesus every knee shall bow and declare that Jesus is Lord. Diseases die at the name of Jesus, mountains level down at the name of Jesus, the enemy flees at the name of Jesus, our lives are transformed at the name of Jesus, our children change for the better at the name of Jesus, storms calm down at the name of Jesus. Jesus! Our authority.
God is worthy of all the honor and glory. The Holy Spirit helps us discern, He teaches us the truth and we are able to distinguish truth from lies no matter how much the enemy has tried covering his tracks. When we spend time with God, study and meditate on His Word, develop a personal relationship with Him; when we are so close to God, with time, we come to hear and recognize His voice.
Jesus left us with authority, He poured out His Spirit to live in us and guide us. Just like it was in the days past, so is it today.
Behold I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. Luke 10:19.
Stop complaining and call on the name of Jesus! Tell the circumstances in your life to align with the Word of God! Speak to the mountains in your life and tell them to move! Nothing is impossible with God.
“The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord even the demons are subject to us in Your name!” Luke 10:17.
Most people live defeated lives because they do not know their identity, they do not know God, they do not know where their authority comes from. Most people allow the enemy to make their lives his playground; he attacks them with diseases and illnesses, he attacks their finances, he attacks their children, he attacks their marriages, he attacks their bodies and soul, he drives them to lose meaning to life.
The devil, if allowed, will do all the harm he can in a person’s life.
We are in a battle, we fight evil spiritual forces, we do not fight flesh and blood. May we know that truth and wake up and fight. Put on the whole armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes, pray in the Spirit on all occasions. Take your stand! Submit to God, resist the devil and you will see him flee from you. Never give the devil an opportunity.
At the cross Jesus defeated all forces of darkness, He defeated sin and death. In Jesus we have all that we need.
But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen from Me and what I will show you. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me. Acts 26:16-18.
Jesus. Our authority.
