Blind leads the blind

If the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch

There is physical sight and spiritual sight. Physical sight sees as the world sees. It is a superficial kind of sight; it does not see deep. It does not see the truth. Our eyes may be open yet we are spiritually blind. With physical sight we conform to the patterns of the world, we do things just to please others, we say things in order to be accepted or validated, and we do not see people as they really are. We look at the external appearances and as a result, we are easily taken advantage of.

We go with the crowd, we go with the trend, and we do what others do and say what others say. We follow people instead of following God. Physical sight is restrictive and if we are not careful it will lead us to destruction. Most of us walk blindly without realizing it, having eyes but not seeing. We are like the blind following the blind and ending up in a ditch.

We have to know the truth for ourselves otherwise we will never get to a state whereby we can discern things for ourselves without relying on other people. People will advise us based on what they know, and if they are deceived, we will easily accept their deception as truth. The truth is only found in the Word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

It is the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth.

We should not rely on people to reveal the truth to us. Most people are broken, deceived, bad-willed, and interested in advancing their own selfish interests. Most people are there as long as they can get something in return, and as a result, they will do or say anything for a season just to achieve what they want. They will speak lies with a straight face as if it were the truth. They will put on external appearances that so closely resembles the truth in an effort to deceive.

Blind leads the blind
Jesus is the Light of the world

Jesus left us with the Spirit of Truth who lives in every true believer. The world cannot accept Him because it neither knows Him nor sees Him. But children of God know Him and He bears witness with our spirit the truths of the kingdom of God. It is God who opens our eyes, that is, our spiritual eyes. We begin to see as God sees.

The Bible says God does not see as man sees, He looks at the heart. Everything starts at the heart. He looks at the motives. True worship comes from the heart, worshipping God in Spirit and in truth. The world considers things of God foolishness because they cannot understand them.

Things of God are only discerned in the Spirit, and as such, those not in the Spirit view them as foolishness.

Such people are headed to destruction. The devil deceives such people and makes them think they are too smart for things of God. They walk by prideful flesh, as know-it-alls. Anything about God does not make sense to them. They are blinded by the father of lies.

Sin blinds people, it is a form of darkness.

Satan is the god of this world and has blinded the minds of unbelievers; he presents lies as if they were the truth, he lies convincingly. A person in sin is under demonic strongholds, and only the blood of Jesus has power over sin. Jesus conquered sin and death on the cross, and by His blood, we are set free, we start to see.

Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, and only the Holy Spirit helps us discern. A hardened heart cannot see the truth; such a person can neither perceive with their eyes nor understand with their mind. Knowing what God says and then going against that is rebellion, it is disobedience. The Bible says that God gave such people over to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done; such people knowing fully God’s righteous decree that those who do such sinful things deserve to die, they not only do them but also approve those who practice them.

We are told that people perish for lack of knowledge. We should never forget God’s Law. We are living in the last days where people follow their own ungodly desires. There are many people who follow natural instincts and do not have the Spirit of God in them. They are divisive people. Sinful nature is hostile to God. The hearts of such people are hardened, their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes so their eyes cannot see. Their hearts cannot understand and they cannot turn towards God for Him to heal them.

Blessed are those whose eyes see and whose ears hear! Those of us who walk in the Spirit have been given the mind of Christ; we can evaluate all things. When we walk in the Spirit, we see as God sees. We no longer walk as blind, our minds are open. God gives us discernment. We see things and people as they are. We have both physical and spiritual sight. We no longer follow the blind, we see them as they really are.

When we turn to the Lord, the blind veil is taken away.

Jesus is the light of the world, He is the way that leads to life.

Blessings.
